From Hamburg Airport
It takes about an hour to get from Hamburg Airport to the Hamburg University of Technology campus and the Northern Institute of Technology Management.
The easiest way to get to Hamburg-Harburg from the airport is to take the S-Bahn (S1) to Hamburg’s central railway station (Hauptbahnhof) After a 20-minute train ride get off the train at Hauptbahnhof and look out for the S 3 or S 31 trains (violet line, direction: Harburg Rathaus or Neugraben or Stade or Buxtehude). They will all take you within 15 minutes to Harburg Rathaus station. From there it is only a 10-minute walk to the campus (follow the signs to Universität or TUHH). The NIT is located on the upper part of the campus.
From Hamburg Central Station
At the railway station follow the signs with an S for S-Bahn. Take the S3 or S31 to Neugraben or Buxtehude or Harburg-Rathaus. Trains leave every 5 to 10 minutes. Buy tickets before you get on the train. A one-way ticket costs about € 2.80.
It takes about 15 minutes from the main station (Hauptbahnhof) to Harburg-Rathaus. From there you follow the TUHH or Universität signs and walk about 5-10 minutes, or take the 142 bus to Kasernenstrasse. Alternatively, you may also take the 142 bus from Hamburg-Harburg station to TUHH/Kasernenstrasse.
