Driven by depleting resources and growing awareness for alternative economic models contrasting the current "take-make-waste" approach, the concept of Circular Economy (CE) presents an opportunity to combine environmental and social interests with the goal of economic growth.
A Circular Economy is one that is restorative and regenerative by design, and which aims to keep products, components and materials at their highest utility and value at all times, distinguishing between technical and biological cycles (Ellen MacArthur Foundation, McKinsey & Company, 2012).
The course introduces the concepts of Circular Economy and Cradle to Cradle innovation and their relevance for the different disciplines in Technology and Innovation Management. During the course, practical examples, best practices and circular design strategies are presented. These can be applied in an ideation workshop and team sessions.
