Workshop: Idea Generation and first Structured Planning


The seminar is about systematically extending and developing your business by identifying and capitalizing on new fields of business or adapting existing ones to a constantly changing environment. This course shows how to discover, develop and evaluate business opportunities.

Participants learn about different sources of innovation/new business opportunities and how to systematically adapt/develop their business by benefiting from these opportunities via building a viable business model/first business plan.

They discover practical applicability for entrepreneurial endeavours and for corporate new product and business development. Different methods, strength and weaknesses of these methods are taught and how to use and strengthen analytical skills, enhance presentation skills and critical discussion of methods.

The course focuses on:

  • Technological Competence Leveraging: Methods to systematically identify new applications for existing technology, select the most promising ones and drafting a commercialisation strategy
  • Business model generation/First steps towards a business plan
  • Developing a sound venture pitch/Pitching towards investors
