moNITor: FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

GENERAL QUERIES

WHAT IS MONITOR, AND WHAT IS IT USED FOR?

moNITor is the NIT’s attendee management system. You can use it to register or book modules and workshops, and, as a registered student, you can check your study progress and download your Transcript of Records and attendance certificates.

HOW DO I REGISTER FOR MONITOR? (DIFFERENCE BETWEEN STUDENTS AND EXTERNS)

As an NIT student you will automatically be assigned a moNITor system account by the NIT administration. You can activate it via the link in the confirmation email you receive once your account has been set up. To subscribe to a workshop or individual modules you simply register for moNITor via the event link on our website.

HOW DO I LOG IN?

At nithh.de/monitor you enter your user name and personal password.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE “OVERVIEW“ AND “MY STUDIES“?

The “Overview“ shows you all the workshops and modules offered for the current semester. As a student you see your personal modules under the heading “My Studies“. Depending on your study model or program, these modules may be identical to those on the “Overview“ page; however, vouchers can only be redeemed on the “My Studies“ page. Fees are charged in the “Overview“ section.

REGISTERING FOR WORKSHOPS AND MODULES

WHAT ARE THE SO-CALLED OFFERS?

All the modules and workshops available within a specific time slot during a given semester are referred to as "Offers". They show up automatically in the “Overview“ or “My Studies“ pages.

WHAT IS THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE DIFFERENT COLORS OF OFFERS?

The NIT curriculum is divided into different sections: My Project (green), General Management (yellow), Skills/Attitude (orange), and Complementary Studies (blue). The colors highlight the category that each module belongs to.

WHERE CAN I SEE ALL OF THE MODULES FOR THE CURRENT SEMESTER?

All of the modules for the semester can be seen in the “Overview“ section.

HOW DO I KNOW WHICH MODULES I NEED TO BOOK?

Modules relevant to your study program are listed under “My Studies“.

HOW DO I REGISTER FOR A MODULE OR A WORKSHOP?

Once you have registered for moNITor you will see a list of all modules and workshops in the “Overview“ or, as a student, in the “My Studies“ section. Click "Register" to the right of a module and you will be taken step-by-step through the booking process.

HOW DO I REDEEM A VOUCHER? (AS A STUDENT)

Vouchers are in a separate section on the “My Studies“ page. Depending on your specific study or loan model, you will have a different number of vouchers. Click on "Use Voucher" to open a dropdown menu from which you can select a module and redeem the voucher.

HOW MANY VOUCHERS CAN I REDEEM PER SEMESTER? (AS A STUDENT)

The number of vouchers at your disposal depends on your loan model and is indicated automatically on your “My Studies“ page.

WHERE DO I FIND AN “OVERVIEW“ OF THE MODULES I HAVE BOOKED?

    On your “My Studies“ page you will find the "Registered" tab with a list of all the modules or workshops you have booked. As an external participant you will find an “Overview“ of your bookings under “Account“ in the "Registrations" section.

    CAN I REGISTER AS A STUDENT FOR WORKSHOPS/MODULES IN ADDITION TO MY CURRICULUM?

    Yes, you can, but as a rule there is a charge for doing so. You will find modules and workshops above your listed curriculum in the “Overview“ section.

    BILLING AND PAYMENT PROCEDURES

    HOW DO I RECEIVE INVOICES FOR MODULES I HAVE BOOKED?

    You will receive separate bookings for each module you have booked by email.

    WHAT ARE THE PAYMENT METHODS FOR MODULES/WORKSHOPS THAT I BOOK?

    Fees for booked modules can be paid by bank transfers after receipt of the invoice.

    DO I RECEIVE AN INVOICE FOR A MODULE FOR WHICH I REDEEM A VOUCHER?

    No, you will receive a registration confirmation for modules for which you redeemed a voucher. 

    WHAT ARE THE TERMS OF PAYMENT FOR WORKSHOPS/MODULES THAT I BOOK?

    You will find all payment details in a separate invoice that is emailed to you. As a rule it is 14 days after receipt of the invoice.

    The NIT also carries out regular reminder runs. If an outstanding item is not paid 7 working days after the payment period, the NIT contacts the customer requesting immediate payment. If no payment is received in the following 14 working days, a subsequent reminder is sent requesting payment within 10 working days. If this period also concludes without payment, a final reminder is sent, and a reminder fee of € 5.00 is due. If no payment is received within 5 additional working days, legal action will be taken, and the customer can no longer book NIT offers until payment is received.

    STUDY PROGRESS AND “OVERVIEW“

    WHEN IS A MODULE/WORKSHOP COMPLETED?

    A module or workshop is shown as completed once both its term has expired and, if appropriate, a grade has been awarded.

    WHERE DO I FIND MY GRADES?

    You will find your grades for individual modules in the Transcript of Records (in the “Account“ section).

    WHERE DO I FIND A DOCUMENTATION OF MY STUDY PROGRESS?

    Students can check their study progress via the toolbar on their “My Studies“ page. For details of modules that have still to be taken, see the Transcript of Records.

    HOW DO I FIND OUT WHICH MODULES I STILL HAVE TO TAKE?

    Modules that have yet to be taken are highlighted in yellow in the Transcript of Records (in the “Account“ section).

    CERTIFICATES

    WHERE DO I FIND MY TRANSCRIPT OF RECORDS/STUDY CERTIFICATE?

    Both documents are in the dropdown menu under “Account“.

    WHERE DO I GET A CERTIFICATE OF PARTICIPATION IN A WORKSHOP?

    You will receive a certificate of participation automatically on completion of the workshop. It is generated directly by the moNITor system.
