The American Alexander Kasinec has been awarded the DAAD Prize 2018 for his extraordinary commitment. The handover of the award took place during the official graduation ceremony for the NIT Class 18 in the TUHH Audimax on September 28th.
The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) endows the prize with 1,000 euros and thereby wants to honour foreign students in Germany who are socially and interculturally involved. Alexander was elected by a clear majority of the jury, consisting of NIT students and staff. Especially his helpfulness, reliability and always friendly and open-minded personality convinced the jury. Whether organizing a Thanksgiving Dinner, making homemade pizza with his classmates or communicating with the new class, Alexander always stood up for the interests of his fellow students and enriched the intercultural exchange.
„Alexander was an inspiring presence in the classroom, sharing thoughts based on his previous professional experience and putting forward innovative ideas and actually turning them into a very promising start-up," said Stephan Scheuner, Recruiting and Admissions Manager, at the graduation ceremony.
After his Master's degree in Technology Management at the NIT, Alexander wants to dedicate himself fully to his start-up.
