About the Day of the Sciences

On the Day of the Science on 22 September, Hamburg researchers will present their technology and digitisation projects and offer a wide range of activities on the campus of the Technical University of Hamburg from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. to take part in and try out. 20 Hamburg universities, research institutions and institutes are on site on the topic of "Technology and Digital Worlds". With hands-on projects, lectures, information stands and science shows, they offer all Hamburgers exciting insights into their research topics.

The programme is wide-ranging and deals with the big and small questions of life in an increasingly technological and digital world: How can digital technologies make life in the city more liveable? How does an E-coli cell multiply compared to an elephant? Can parents read their children's WhatsApp messages? How do you teach a robot how to play football, what does an astronaut eat on the ISS and how does food taste in space?

The Day of the Science is an event format of the Authority for Science, Research and Equality and complements the Night of the Science. Together with the host, the Technical University of Hamburg, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2018, it would like to bring all Hamburgers closer to technical and digital research topics with the Day of the Science.
