P&G awards scholarship to NIT students

Global player supports junior managers: Procter & Gamble (P&G) Service awards a scholarship for studying at NIT Northern Institute of Technology Management in Hamburg. Students in masters programs at NIT are able to do a master’s degree in technology management in parallel to completion of their studies at the Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH). The consumer goods company P&G supports this combination of engineering sciences and management by paying tuition for an applicant at NIT.

Since 2009, P&G awards a scholarship to an NIT student every year. This year applicants studying “Mechatronics”, “Mechanical Management & Engineering” or the German-language MSc programs “Elektrotechnik” and “Maschinenbau” have the best chances to be chosen. Furthermore, students who are interested in the scholarship should plan to stay in Germany after their graduation. "We have many vacant positions in technical management at the moment. For these jobs the combination of economic and engineering background plays an important role", says Carsten Luckert, Section Head Baby Care Engineering at P&G. In order to be chosen for the P&G scholarship, applicants should prove their passion and ambition.

Wiebke Scheibner, NIT-Class 2016, received the coveted scholarship in the year 2014. In June 2016 she completed her studies at NIT and is currently writing her TUHH master’s thesis at P&G in Euskirchen. At the time she made a conscious decision to work with P&G: “I wanted to join an international company in order to cooperate on international projects as well as gain experience abroad.” And she is able to recommend the P&G scholarship to applicants without reservation: “The support provided by P&G is outstanding. Carsten Luckert and I were in contact already prior to my internship and we met once a month in order to discuss my development. I was able to immediately apply what I had learned during my studies because I took on my own independent tasks from day one. The company also has a very appreciative corporate culture and offers excellent career opportunities.”

If you want to apply for the P&G scholarship, please indicate in your letter of purpose why you might be the right candidate. In order to increase your chances, please apply as soon as possible. For further information on the admission at NIT, please have a look at
